ZEVEX International Sponsors Cancer and Nutrition Symposium, Expands Market Opportunity SALT LAKE CITY, July 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- ZEVEX International, Inc., (NASDAQ:ZVXI) manufacturer and marketer of the EnteraLite(R) ambulatory enteral feeding pump, announced it was one of the major sponsors of the 11th Symposium on Nutrition and Cancer held on July 8-9, 2004, hosted by the University of Texas in Houston and the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta. The symposium was held at MD Anderson Cancer Center at the University of Texas, which U.S. News and World Report named the leading cancer center in the U.S. for the third year in a row in its annual ranking. Clinicians who specialize in nutrition and oncology from around the globe attended the symposium. At present, pediatric enteral nutrition consumers are the primary users of ZEVEX' EnteraLite. According to Frost & Sullivan and internal company estimates, the U.S. market for enteral nutrition delivery for feeding pumps and associated administration sets is at least $250 million annually. Current procedures for feeding cancer patients may require them to interrupt their radiation or chemotherapy treatments and report for a feeding regimen using a stationary pump. Because the ZEVEX pump is portable, patients can receive treatment, return to their normal lives and even go to work while receiving better nutrition delivery. Many patients who use the EnteraLite have reported their ability to maintain or gain weight.
