The FTSE 100-listed telecom company's shares rose 6% after Iliad Group put forward a proposal to merge their Italian businesses in a deal that values Vodafone Italia at 10.45 billion euros ($11.38 billion). While Vodafone said there is no certainty that a deal will be agreed upon, the group is exploring merger or disposal options for its Italian business with several parties, backing its portfolio growth strategy.
