On January 30, 2009, Legacy Bancorp, Inc. (the “Company”), the holding company for Legacy Banks,
announced that its 2009 annual meeting of shareholders will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at
9:00 a.m. (Eastern Time) at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, One West Street, Pittsfield, Massachusetts.
The record date for shareholders entitled to vote at the meeting will be March 16, 2009. A copy of
the press release issued by the Company on January 30, 2009 is attached as Exhibit 99.1 and
incorporated herein by reference.
