Hammett, Jr., former chief financial officer and senior vice president of Dave & Buster's, Inc. of Dallas, Texas, was elected by its shareholders at the annual meeting to Carreker's board of directors on July 13, 2006. Hammett played a key role in Dave & Buster's turnaround by reducing operating costs, negotiating a convertible debt deal, leading acquisitions, and implementing new treasury and cash management systems. Hammett is also former vice chairman of the board of Dallas-based Pegasus Solutions, Inc., where he guided the company through its IPO and subsequent acquisition and led the negotiations surrounding its recent "going private" transaction. His previous positions include chief financial officer with La Quinta Inns, Inc. and Motel 6 G.P., Inc. He began his career in audit and tax positions with Price WaterhouseCoopers. Hammett received his B.S. in Accounting from the University of South Carolina and is a member of its Development Foundation Board of Directors and its Moore School of Business Advisory Board. J. D.
