SMARTNAV FROM TRAFFICMASTER TO BE OFFERED AS AN OPTION ACROSS ALL MODELS OF
                               MERCEDES-BENZ CARS

9th January 2004, Bedfordshire, UK: Trafficmaster plc today announces that
Smartnav, the award-winning system combining state of the art satellite
navigation with Trafficmaster's unique traffic information, is being made
available by Mercedes-Benz as an approved accessory across its entire model
range in the UK from today. This latest announcement follows other recent deals
with leading car manufacturers including Peugeot, Mazda, MG Rover and
Mitsubishi.

Smartnav provides Mercedes-Benz customers with the latest in satellite
navigation. At the push of a button, drivers are connected to a Smartnav
Personal Assistant, who enters destination details into Smartnav's computer.
Using Trafficmaster's live, incident, historic and predictive traffic data, the
Smartnav server then calculates the best route avoiding congestion and downloads
the route into the Smartnav unit in the car. In addition the system will alert
drivers of any delays en route. Smartnav also provides two additional services
including Safe Speed, an integrated safety camera alert device, and Stolen
Vehicle Tracking.

A spokesman for Mercedes-Benz said: "Smartnav is the latest generation in
off-board satellite navigation and is the first of its kind to meet and pass the
strict technical evaluation guidelines set by Mercedes-Benz."

David Martell, Chief Executive at Trafficmaster, comments: "We are delighted to
add Mercedes-Benz to the list of partners offering Smartnav to the motorist.
The product has rapidly established a strong reputation in the industry as
evidenced by the growing number of motor manufacturers making Smartnav
available."
