Workshop Highlight NASDAQ's Fourth-Year as Title Sponsor MIAMI,
March 23 /PRNewswire/ -- The NASDAQ-100 Open, the largest titled
sponsorship in tennis, begins today in Miami. Now in its fourth
year as title sponsor, the NASDAQ-100 Index Tracking Stock(SM)
(QQQ) will expand its presence at the tournament and offer
additional on-site enhancements and activities for fans and
investors. The NASDAQ-100 Open features the world's top men's and
women's tennis players including defending champions Andy Roddick
and Serena Williams and takes place March 23rd to April 3rd at the
Tennis Center at Crandon Park in Miami. Centrally-located adjacent
to the stadium, the QQQ Pavilion will once again be the hub of
activity during the tournament, featuring autograph sessions with
players, special events, and photo opportunities. Continuing its
tradition of community involvement, NASDAQ Global Funds CEO John
Jacobs will host a Girl Scout troop from Dade County on March 31st
for a financial literacy workshop. Jacobs will provide background
on how the stock market works and help the girls broaden their
knowledge base and gain real life experience in the area of
business management, financial products and savings. The workshop
will count toward credits earned for the Girl Scouts popular "Got
Money" program that stresses savings and investing and is supported
by the NASDAQ Educational Foundation. Participation in the workshop
will help the Girl Scouts earn a special savings and investing
charm that can hang from a bracelet, ring or backpack. On March
24th, NASDAQ will conduct a tennis-themed market open to help kick
off the Tournament. Jacobs will join Bed Bath & Beyond
President and CEO Steven Temares at MarketSite in New York. Messrs
Jacobs and Temares will be joined by Amy Niles, President and CEO
of the National Women's Health Resource Center, which together with
Bed Bath & Beyond is launching a series of women's health panel
discussions at the NASDAQ-100 Open. In addition, the Tournament
showcased life-size player cut-outs of Andy Roddick, Maria
Sharapova, and Serena Williams in more than 90 Starbucks and 23 Bed
Bath & Beyond stores throughout South Florida during the month
of February. Starbucks and Bed Bath & Beyond are NASDAQ-100
