will be used to help grow Georgia Power's Green Energy program,
which was launched in October 2006. The program currently has more
than 4,400 customers enrolled who purchase approximately 19,000
100-kilowatt-hour blocks monthly. Georgia Power seeks competitive
proposals that will offer exceptional value to the company and its
customers. The company is seeking up to 80,000 megawatt-hours (MWh)

photovoltaic energy. Proposals must provide annual energy-only
pricing for energy and associated renewable energy credits. All
green energy resources must satisfy the criteria of the Green-e(R)
energy National Standard for Renewable Electricity Products. The
green energy resources for the RFP are needed on or before January
1, 2011. Georgia Power prefers a contract term of 10 years but will
consider proposals for a 20-year term for solar resources only.
There is a bidder's fee of $200 to help defray administrative
costs. "Georgia Power encourages the development of renewable
energy in Georgia and the Southeast," said Ervan Hancock, Georgia
Power's renewable and green strategy manager. "With this green
energy RFP, we hope to provide the renewable resources to further
grow our Green Energy program." A bidders' conference will be held
