Rio Tinto PLC (RIO.LN), the miner, Friday said its subsidiary, Rio Tinto Jersey Holdings 2010 Ltd., has extended its takeover offer for Riversdale Mining Ltd. (RIV.AU) by two weeks to end at 7.00 pencem Sydney time on May 20, unless further extended.

Shares at 0816 GMT down 67 pence, or 1.6%, at 4019 pence valuing the company at GBP60.60 billion.
