Corriente Resources Inc. ("Corriente") (TSX: CTQ)(NYSE Amex: ETQ) wishes to advise that it has received written confirmation from CRCC-Tongguan Investment Co., Ltd. (the "Offeror") that all remaining government approvals required to be obtained in The People's Republic of China in connection with its offer to purchase all of the outstanding shares of Corriente have been obtained.

The obligation of the Offeror to take up the shares of Corriente deposited under the Offer remains subject to customary closing conditions as set out in the Offer documents, which are available on SEDAR.

The Offer, as previously extended, is scheduled to expire at 5:00 p.m. (Vancouver time) on Friday, May 28, 2010.
