SOUTHAMPTON, Pa., Dec. 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Environmental Tectonics Corporation's ("ETC" or the "Company") BioMedical Systems Group has contracted with Life Support Technologies, Inc. ("LST") for the delivery of three BARA-MED(R) XD monoplace hyperbaric chambers to Winthrop Hospital in Mineola, New York. Acting as a management group for the hospital, LST selected ETC BioMedical due to its technological leadership. Like all hyperbaric chambers designed and manufactured by ETC BioMedical, the units shipped to Winthrop will contain BARA-PRESS(TM), a Windows-based software control system with full manual override. This system serves to maximize operational efficiency and enhance patient comfort and safety by allowing chamber technicians to focus their attention on patients, not on the equipment, clock/timer or records keeping. The delivery of the three BARA-MED(R) XD chambers will mark the beginning of Winthrop Hospital's hyperbaric medicine department. Winthrop is a 591-bed teaching hospital offering a full complement of inpatient and outpatient services. LST is a leading supplier of hyperbaric technology and services in the New York and New Jersey areas and is committed to increasing the utilization of clinical hyperbaric technology through advancing medical science and solid engineering practice. ETC designs, develops, installs and maintains aircrew training systems, public entertainment systems, process simulation systems (sterilization and environmental), clinical hyperbaric systems, environmental testing and simulation systems, and related products for domestic and international customers.
