Northwest Airlines (NYSE: NWA) today announced an August consolidated (mainline and regional) load factor of 86.6 percent, 1.0 points below August 2007. Northwest reported a mainline load factor of 87.8 percent, 0.7 points below August 2007. In August 2008, Northwest and Northwest Airlink regional carriers flew 7.3 billion consolidated revenue passenger miles (RPMs) and 8.4 billion consolidated available seat miles (ASMs), a traffic increase of 1.9 percent and a capacity increase of 3.1 percent versus August 2007.
