US Futures Mixed, European Stocks Fall as As US Debt Ceiling Talks Continue

In the U.S. futures for the S&P 500 were up 0.5% and futures
for the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.1% Changes in futures

In Europe, the Stoxx Europe 600 declined 0.1% in morning
trading. BE Semiconductor Inds climbed 6.9% and ASM International
rose 6.6%. On the other hand, Johnson Matthey slipped 3.3%, and
Viaplay Group Series B lost 2.8%. The FTSE 100 lost 0.4%. Other
stocks in Europe were down as France's CAC 40 decreased 0.3% and
Germany's DAX dropped 0.2%.
The Wall Street Journal Dollar Index rose 0.1% to 97.92.
In commodities, Brent crude fell 0.3% to $77.99 a barrel, and
WTI crude fell 0.5% to $73.99 a barrel.
The German 10-year Bund yield climbed by 0.6 basis points to
2.478% from 2.472%, and the yield on the 10-year U.S. Treasury rose
by 0 basis points to 3.75% from 3.75% Bond prices and yields move
in opposite directions.
Stocks in Asia were mixed as Japan's Nikkei 225 index gained
0.4%, whereas Hong Kong's Hang Seng dropped 2.1%. China's benchmark
Shanghai Composite fell 0.1%.
